Endangered Species Chocolate launches three new products
Mission-driven company makes entrée into culinary market with baking chocolate

INDIANAPOLIS – Endangered Species Chocolate (ESC), the number one selling brand of all-
natural chocolate (SPINS data, June 2006, number of units and dollar amount), has launched
three new products, which the company showcased at the National Association for the Specialty
Food Trade’s Fancy Foods Show in New York, July 9 – 11.

Making its debut in the culinary niche, ESC now offers two baking chocolate options – Gourmet
Baking Rounds for the at-home chef and random weight bars for restaurant, commercial or
larger-scale personal use. The company has also added Box Chocolate to its growing product
line.

Gourmet Baking Rounds
Perfect for melting for fudge, frosting, cakes and other treats, Gourmet Baking Rounds are all-
natural dark chocolate with 88 percent cocoa content. Each package contains three 3 oz.
rounds, which are scored into even thirds for easy measuring.

Random weight bars
Socially conscious pastry chefs, commercial bakers and avid at-home cooks who are interested
in ESC’s premium, all-natural chocolate needn’t wait any longer – ESC is introducing random
weight bars. The bars are available in all-natural dark chocolate with 88 percent cocoa content
or all-natural milk chocolate with 52 percent cocoa content. Unlike the crag-like blocks of baking
chocolate many are used to, ESC’s baking bars are pre-weighed, molded bars in
measurements of 3 oz., 5 oz. or 7 oz. blocks.

Box Chocolate
Ideal for gift-giving, party favors or simple self-indulgence, ESC’s new Box Chocolate offers
something for every type of chocolate lover. The box contains an assortment of ESC’s all-
natural gourmet chocolate. Six individually cut pieces of all-natural dark, milk and white
chocolate are laid out in each box to mimic the ESC logo – a cacao tree bearing three cacao
fruit.

ESC has introduced several new products over the past year, including Halloween, Holiday,
Love and Hoppy TreatsTM, as well as its most recent offering, Eco-Rounds (caramelized cocoa
nibs mixed in a new 60 percent cocoa content blend).
