Our purpose

Endangered Species Chocolate is fully committed to providing customers with delicious, all-natural and premium organic chocolate made from ethically-traded beans that are shade grown on cacao trees under the natural canopy of the forest. To honor our core value – Reverence for Life – we confirm that all beans used in our products are purchased from small family-owned properties where the income benefits the community. We also donate 10 percent of net profits to help support species, habitat and humanity.

1. Fully automated, sustainable, green building production facility.

3. Currently LEED® registered, and will be LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Rating Council.

Fun facts

1. On target to produce 20 million chocolate bars in 2006. 8 million bars produced in 2005.
2. Approximately 20,000 pounds (10 tons) of chocolate processed daily.

Reaching out

1. Donates 10 percent of net profits to help support species, habitat and humanity. 2006 partners include Chimp Haven, National Wildlife Federation and the Nigeria farming co-op.
2. Soon will offer onsite fieldtrips to schools and youth groups, allowing students to witness the production of all-natural chocolate and to participate in educational programs promoting conservation.
3. Works with food rescue and job training nonprofit agencies.
