Caramel S'mores Bars by Endangered Species Chocolate

S'mores Bars

Recipe developed by Blue Bowl Recipes - Stephanie Simmons Serving Size: Makes 9 x 9 pan Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar, packed
  • ¾ tsp vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 and ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 4 whole graham crackers, crushed to various size crumbs
  • 4 bars Endangered Species 48% Milk Chocolate
  • 3 tbsp salted caramel sauce
  • 1 jar marshmallow cream (7 oz)
Directions
  1. Cream butter in a large bowl.
  2. Add the sugars and beat until well creamed with the butter, at least 1 minute.
  3. Add the vanilla and eggs and mix until just combined, on medium speed. Add the dry ingredients and mix just until a dough forms. Stir in the graham cracker crumbs.
  4. Press half the dough into a lined 9x9 pan.
  5. Top with the Endangered Species chocolate bars, breaking them as needed to fit.
  6. Spread the jar of marshmallow cream on, then drizzle on the caramel sauce. Add the remaining cookie dough in slightly flattened discs.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F for 23-27 minutes. The topping will be golden brown, adn the mallow cream will be puffy, but will calm down as the bars cool.
  8. Let cool for 2-3 hours for slightly messy gooey slices, or cool completely/overnight before slicing & serving. Drizzle with more salted caramel if desired.
